The identified problem is lack of basic education among communities to mobilize themselves in becoming self-reliant. We work hand in hand with communities with the aim of bridging gaps to educate and empower individuals that one has to take responsibility and make the correct choices in order to realize opportunities and endless possibilities. The programme is focused on secondary schools, youth centres and churches and aimed at combatting youth unemployment and GBV challenges within South Africa.

Selected young people are mentored and coached on skills, amongst others:

• Life Skills including Sexual and Reproductive Health – Early Childhood Pregnancy, HIV- Aids;
• Self-Development such as personal development such goal setting, time management and PDP plans;
• Mental Health;
• Career Development (includes work readiness and compiling a CV);
• Business Skills such as Entrepreneurship and Leadership focusing on global ESG sustainability initiatives, particularly health and wellbeing for high performance;
• Being Financially Savvy; and 
• The New Digital World.

Thrive has also been a soundboard for youth with support sessions, youth participation, empathy towards their unique situations and hearing their voice is essential on this programme.
